SEASON OVERVIEW
We’re popping up at Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek on May 5th!
Our Spring workshops will take place in person at Capital One Café (at Broadway Plaza). First time participants will take part in our Entrepreneurship 101 course. All participants will dive into problem solving, product development, and innovation in our Advanced Workshop, Startup Lab: Modular Electronics with Jen Wang, PhD & Chief Product Officer for Framework.
ABOUT BROADWAY PLAZA
Located in Walnut Creek, Broadway Plaza is an open-air shopping center that is home to over 80 top retailers and specialty shops, including Nordstrom, Macy's, Apple, lululemon and Louis Vuitton. You’ll also find a variety of delicious restaurants like True Food Kitchen, Boudin, Cholita Linda and Original Joe’s, which will open in 2024. Broadway Plaza was voted year-over-year “Best Shopping Center” in Diablo Magazine’s “Best of the East Bay” issue.
Our Spring pop-up will be stationed behind the Apple Store, between Nordstrom and Zara, where entrepreneurs will have a truly unique opportunity to set up shop within a dynamic retail environment and interact with customers from all over the Bay Area.

CONSIDERATIONS FOR OUR SPRING 2024 POP-UP SHOP
-
Our Spring 2024 Pop-up at Broadway Plaza is geared for ages 10–18. Note that the duration and setup for this event is more intensive, thus the minimum age is 10 (unlike our other pop-ups, where the minimum age is 8)
-
We at Girls Crushing It dedicate an incredible amount of heart and labor towards ensuring that our pop-up shops are delightful - and we need you to do your part too! Participants and their families/support team should make every effort to show up ready to share their wonderful business and products with the world, and to make the best of any unexpected circumstances - whether that’s a rainstorm, a gust of wind, a “competitor" nearby, or any other challenges we may encounter. We appreciate your words of kindness, willingness to lend a hand, and mindful modeling of optimism and resilience.
-
Your child will be expected to actively manage their table during their shift. Due to the extended duration of a shift, participants should consider enlisting the help of a friend or family member while they take breaks.
-
Payment method options for customers are at the sole discretion of the participant. Card readers and accounts must be set up in advance of the pop-up shop, as there is no guarantee of wi-fi availability during our pop-up shop.
-
Participants manage their own finances and are entitled to their profit; Girls Crushing It does not take a commission on sales
