This Spring, girls will learn the fundamentals of brick and mortar retail operations and develop a go-to-market strategy for their business, including engaging with a panel of local shop owners. Girls will then have the opportunity to pitch their products for the consideration of local shop owners, who will select and purchase inventory to be sold in their physical stores in the weeks leading up to our Spring Pop-up Shop. We are happy to be partnering with the following retailers for Spring 2020...

UPDATED Please read the following additional considerations before proceeding to registration

  • Waitlisted Registrants: We are adding tables and tents in the courtyard of the Art & Garden Center to accommodate waitlisted registrants.  Our pop-up shop will proceed -- rain or shine.

  • Product Requirements: Products should be created or designed by the participant. Reselling is not permitted.  As an example: designing a logo and printing it onto a mug is permitted, but simply purchasing a mug, marking up the price and reselling it is not permitted.

  • Group Businesses: When you register, please be prepared to list your daughter's business name and the name of her business partner(s) if applicable.

  • Age Requirement: Our programming is designed for girls ages 6 - 17.

  • Parent participation: Parent/guardian should plan to attend the workshops with their daughters.

  • Business Idea: You do not need to declare your girlpreneur's business idea/product during registration, however you should arrive to the Business Workshop with a well-honed business idea.

  • No Food Sales: Since this is a public event, we are subject to the rules and restrictions of the health department.  As such, we regret that we are unable to accommodate food merchants.

  • Inventory: For new registrants, we recommend 25 - 50 pieces of inventory.

  • Price point: Median price points range between $3-15

  • Calculating Your Daughter's Profit: Unlike a farmers market, GCI is a nonprofit.  As such, your registration fee helps to offset the cost of our nonprofit educational programming and should not be considered a business expense.  Therefore, registration fees should not be subtracted from gross sales when calculating profit.

  • Registration Fee & Refund policy: As part of our mission, Girls Crushing It provides educational opportunities for girls to learn or enhance a variety of leadership and business skills, including public speaking, financial literacy, branding, and more. The registration fees allow us to work with experts to design curriculum that is age-appropriate and aligned with our mission. The pop-up shops allow the girls to use what they have learned in a fun, tangible way, but they are not the core of our mission as a non-profit.  As such, refunds will be issued up to 24 hours prior to our Workshop Day, but not after.
